Momo is a type of dumpling made by wrapping a filling—usually meat or vegetables—in a thin flour-based dough. The dumplings are traditionally steamed and served with a spicy dipping sauce or achar.

• Buff Momo – made with buffalo meat; extremely common in Nepal.

• Chicken Momo – filled with minced chicken, herbs and spices.

• Paneer Momo – filled with paneer and vegetables.

• Jhol Momo – steamed momo served in a spicy, soupy tomato-sesame achar.

• C-Momo / Chilli Momo – momo tossed in a spicy, often chilli-based sauce.

• Fried Momo – steamed or raw momo that is subsequently fried for a crispy exterior.

• Kothey Momo – pan-fried momo, usually crispy on the bottom while remaining steamed on top.
